The Client is a Canadian company dedicated to liaison Caribbean and Latin American ventures with Canadian businesses, investors and entrepreneurs who are interested in projecting their business beyond the Canadian borders. The areas of expertise cover a wide range of opportunities, from ecological waste disposal systems, joint ventures, cooperative agreements, and quality of life programs as well as representations of diverse companies from the Caribbean and Latin America.

Business Requirements

The client needed a website that was an ultimate destination for travelers. The website was intended to be the Net identity of the firm as well a search portal. The search portal would incorporate searching of hotels, car rentals, airport transfers etc. The customer would have to enter his criteria in a search form, and on submitting this information he would see all available options in form of listings. The revenue would be generated when the customer would want to seek details of a particular item. In order to access details he would have to become a paid registered member.

Solution

The site designed is a search portal designed primarily to cater to the needs of travelers. People looking for Hotel rooms, Airport to city/city to city transfers, car rentals, Health destinations etc. can use the search facilities of the web site. The just have to navigate to the search page and select the search criteria like date, rooms etc. Once they hit the Search button a page is displayed with all the search listings satisfying their criteria. The user can then select a listing he is interested in by double clicking it. In order to view further details the user needs to be a paid member of the web site. He can register and enter his credit card information etc. and get access to details.

The admin interface is designed with various features to make it very easy to update the website content. Most of the site content is dynamic and can be modified by the admin. Once he logs in he can set parameters like car make, model etc. He can add/delete/modify the various listings and their details in the management section. He can also manage the details of the regions he primarily caters and highlight them on the website. Email management and content management facilities are provide to him in order to keep the members informed about the latest deals and discounts. Also the newsletters act as a way for informing the users of the upcoming events. The Content Management is an online word processing tools which enables the admin to create rich graphics which can be incorporated into the newsletter.
