Business Requirements

The client wanted a coldfusion e commerce web site to as a platform where the American and Russians could communicate with each other. They wanted to provide a platform to the users where they could use facilities like translation, delivery of letters and photographs, flowers, gifts etc. They also wanted to incorporate a service on the web site where the client could register for a three way phone call one of the parties being an interpreter. The users needed to be registered in order to avail the translation facilities and the client wanted some of the services to be paid services
The client also wanted a banner to exchange with other web sites along with search engine optimization.

Solution

GoEastNow is a ColdFusion based e commerce  web site which acts a place where Americans and Russians can communicate with each other without feeling the language barrier. The web site offers various services that help the users keep in touch.
The website helps American men find Russian spouse using the snail mail campaign. This is a paid service where the users find a suitable match for themselves. The web site offers help by translating correspondence. This is a paid service and payments are made on the web site. The users can upload their letters and photographs on the site for the site staff to view. The translation charges are calculated on the web site based on the number of words entered
The site also has a 3 way phone call paid facility where the user provides the web site with the contact name and number of the person he is calling. He also informs the date and time of call. The bilingual American and Russian tele-interpreters co-ordinate the phone call. The details of the phone call like time date, contact info is entered on the forms provided on the web site and customer buys the service online through online credit card processing.
The site also offers flower/gift delivery service. The customers can enter the recipient information and what to deliver on the web site. This is a paid service that can be added to the feature rich Coldfusion shopping cart.
The site users can store their favorite profiles on the web site to save them from the hassle of entering the same information again and again. The site has a Paypal payment facility which is carried out through payment gateway integration. Users can enter different recipient addresses for different services. Detail of all recipients is stored in database to use in future. There is a birthday reminder which will send a birth reminder email to user before a week so user can wish and send gift to recipient.

On the admin side the site has a user friendly interface which enables the administrator to view the statistics snapshot, orders, member information, modify the charges for goods and services. A text editor is provided where the client can make text changes on the web pages. Under banners exchange process, Administrator set banners of other site on Goeastnow using a HTML editor. He just has to paste the banner in it and save it. And it will appear on front page. He does not have to modify HTML pages.
