The client is an organization that helps the students in public middle and high schools prepare academically, personally, and financially for college admission and other postsecondary opportunities best suited to a student's needs, aptitudes.

Business Requirements

The client wanted a complete Student Management System (SMS) on the web site which had several modules for arranging student information.

He wanted to be able to customize the subscription facility with the maintenance of a log for failed mails and dynamic mail generation through rich text editors.

He also wanted a scholarship section in the Student Management system which had different modules for student and mentors.

The client required a Report Model which dynamically generates customized reports. They wanted system Configuration which can be useful for Backup functionality.

Solution

The web site a place where high school students find tips and assistance in preparing for college admissions.

It has various forms for the registration to middle and high schools. User can download, print or view the various forms on the web site. User can also view the different events set by the administrator. It consists of a scholarship module with common functionality like Add, Edit, Delete, Paging, Searching/filtering and sorting functionality. This module has sub modules for academics information, College History, Funding info, Guardian Info, Mentor Info, Required Yearly info, and different maintenance modules Like Mentor type, Current Year, School Academy, High School/Middle School, Grade, Fund Type, and Class etc.

The site also has modules for organizing Event Details, dynamically populating the information for News, Up Coming Events, FAQs etc The system was configured in order to set Page Size, create users and giving roles to users for particular forms for Add\Edit\Delete\Searching functionality.

The reports can be customized to define the Filter Criteria, Title ,Report Description, Fields to be Displayed, Listing all the created report , Deleting selected reports, Displaying report with customize fields ,Exporting report to different media like Exporting to Excel ,PDF , Printing report etc. He can add\edit\delete and authorized different admin users and give permission to access the different modules for add\edit\delete\filtering functionality.
