CMS based Information Portal For Event Management - Solution

iSummation Technologies has developed a custom Enterprise CMS solution for IIRME that caters to site generation, maintenance and management needs for IIRME group of sites and the main information portal. The solution is developed on .Net platform with MS SQL 2005 as the database. Data and Technology migration was taken care of by our team.

The Custom CMS is developed in tandem with requirements of IIRME for management of large content and easy navigation. The solution has helped IIRME achieve its goals of increased user registration and better site structure and navigation for the information portal and site network. The site management has become much simpler. With facilities like site copy, form manager, site switch etc. the day to day functions of the IIRME staff have become easier and faster. Detailed reporting tools are provided so that site activities and trends can be monitored on day-to-day basis.

Below are some of the details of the Customized Enterprise CMS implementation

  1. Site Creation Management

    IIRME business process requires creation of multiple event sites (each site corresponding to a separate event) on daily basis. Thus site creation has to be a simple and fast process. Also the user must be able to easily search for a relevant event sub-site. The content on many of these sites is quite similar.

    Keeping in mind these requirements the event sites can be created by simply filling a form. A detailed search feature is introduced so that a user can search event site by event code, date of creation etc. Considering the scope of content reusability, site copy feature has also been provided.

  1. Content Management on portal

    Uniformly placed and easily navigable content is important ensure that the user is able to reach an event of interest and register for it. Since the content addition and management is done by multiple staff members, it is important that this process is governed by pre-defined constrains.

    To ensure this, pre-defined page templates are used. During the content creation the user can select from a set of templates. They can also make changes to the CSS. All these changes can be defined using a simple form based interface so that a no technical user can also make such changes.

    Similarly menus, headers, footers etc. can be managed using similar form based tools. This lends a uniform look to the entire portal.

  1. Form Manager

    A customized and feature rich form manager has been provided that allows the users to create forms, add/modify fields, manage field constraints, modify form related mails and messages etc. This feature is of great importance to the client as forms are the back-bone of the site as they facilitate user registration.

  1. Plug-Ins

    Content snippets on the page templates are managed through a content manager. Some of the plug-ins are News Manager, FAQ manager, News Manager etc. These features are equipped with the facility to publish the content in pre-defined time windows. Also these can be displayed on pre-specified pages of the site only. Other plug ins include Marquee manager and Testimonial manager.

  1. User Management

    Since multiple people access different areas of the application, a secure access structure is required. For this user roles are defined with each role having a specific access matrix assigned to it. The site administrator has access to all functions on the site.

  1. Reporting Tools

    Detailed Reporting and Analytics are made available so that the marketing staff can study user access patterns and gather other crucial information.
